A note from the future, about 28 years later:

Welcome to the old Mac OS Personal Web Sharing website! This site may be a blast from the past, but it's still a testament to the enduring power of the internet. It's hard to believe that this simple page was once the cutting edge of web design, but it serves as a reminder of just how far we've come in the past 30 years.

As you explore this site, you might find yourself feeling a sense of nostalgia for the early days of the web. But don't let that nostalgia obscure the fact that the internet has come a long way since 1996. From the proliferation of social media to the rise of e-commerce, the internet has transformed nearly every aspect of our lives. Still, it's fun to take a trip down memory lane and see what the web used to look like. Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. As we pulled this website from an old Macintosh, we couldn't help but wonder about Ellen Kaiser, the person mentioned on the page, and in some other examples on the site. Who was she? Did she ever even exist? And if there was an ekaiser@hillview.com, did they ever get emails from people trying to reach them through these old websites? It's a strange feeling, knowing that someone you'll never meet is somehow a part of history. But that's the magic of the internet, isn't it? It connects us to people and places we might never have known otherwise. So here's to Ellen, wherever she is, and to all the other people whose digital fingerprints are still out there, waiting to be discovered.
